The Name
When Scott first began developing in 1991, his CPA called one day and told Scott he needed to quickly come up with a name for their new development entity. On a deadline, and thinking the name could be adjusted or changed later, Scott quickly came up with: "SKN Properties" (short for Scott, Kim, Negri). More than 30 years, plus 45 acquisitions and developments later, the name hasn't changed.
The Family
Scott and his wife, Kim, both grew up in the Central Valley and graduated from Fresno State. They married in 1991 and welcomed twins, Arianna and Alec, in 1995. Scott and Kim now reside in Monterey, California, and their twins graduated college in 2018. Their son, Alec, is working for a real estate company in Los Angeles. His girlfriend, Olivia, works for a marketing company in LA as well. And their daughter, Arianna, is living in San Diego where she operates her food photography business. Arianna's husband Sam works for a private equity company; the two married in Temecula Valley in October 2022. Never ones to sit still, Kim and Scott are always looking for the next SKN Properties project.
The Team
SKN Properties handles its property management in house. Judy Troehler has been with the company for 26 years, and she handles all property management needs. Kim handles special projects and the environmental "greening" of the developments. Scott manages all aspects of the business. Tenants know they can reach him at any time. Scott always says, "We treat our tenants as partners because without them, where would we be?"
