Scott started his career with Coldwell Banker (CB) in 1985 as a licensed real estate agent in the retail properties division. Scott left in 1991 to join Commercial Retail Associates, Inc. as a partner with the firm. That same year, Scott and his wife, Kim, started SKN Properties.
Scott enjoys the creative process of developing a project from the ground up. Working with his architect on innovative building design and layout, researching and finding the best new tenants, and creating a reliable and long-lasting project are some of the things that drive Scott to work in this industry. Scott knows that not all people find a career that they love, but he is just as passionate and fascinated about this industry as he was the first day he started SKN Properties.
In addition to SKN Properties, Scott has a long history of philanthropy in both the Fresno and Monterey communities. He was a member of the Saint Agnes Men's Hospital Foundation in Fresno for seven years and served on the Fresno Make-A-Wish board from 2001-2013; the last three years as President. Scott currently serves as a trustee on the Naval Post Graduate School Foundation in Monterey and is the chairman of the America's Heroes Golf Tournament. In 2022, the golf tournament raised $2.97 million in one day. In addition, Scott served on the Boys and Girls Club for Monterey County from 2012-2018.
Kim Negri’s background is in marketing, communications, and public relations. After graduating in 1989, she started her career with Xerox Corporation in sales and management as an account manager. During her time with Xerox, she was also a high-volume specialist and a President’s Club winner for numerous years.
Since founding SKN Properties with Scott in 1991, Kim has jumped into the development business in countless ways throughout the years. Kim is the Special Projects Director and focuses on the sustainability program, including lighting and energy usage, landscaping, water and recycling upgrades, and other clean initiatives.
In addition to being a wife, mother of twins, and SKN Properties partner, Kim has always felt strongly about the communities she and her family live in and the importance of giving back. Because of her passion for community service, education, and the arts, Kim has worked with numerous organizations and non-profits over the years. Kim served on the board of the Fresno Metropolitan Museum of Art board from 2000-2007 and was the Metropolitan Club President in 2000. Kim also served on the board for the Central California Blood Center from 2009-2012. After moving to Monterey, Kim joined the Board of Directors for the Monterey Museum of Art, where she served as a board member from 2014-2016 and President in 2017.
As well, Kim is currently attending Stanford University's Graduate School of Business. She is a part of the Executive LEAD Program and is working on getting her master's in Management and Leadership.
Judy Troehler joined Scott at Commercial Retail Associates in 1998 as his Administrative Assistant while learning the commercial real estate business. As SKN Properties grew, Judy's role evolved into property management and tenant relations. She obtained her real estate license in 2003 to properly facilitate her growing role at SKN Properties.
Currently, Judy runs the Fresno management office, maintains all property financial operations, and works directly with tenants, vendors, and property maintenance coordination. SKN Properties' commitment to excellence drives our business and the growing needs of our properties and tenants. Judy's role is to maintain that level daily.
In addition to her work at SKN Properties, Judy also attends Fresno City College in pursuit of earning a degree in fine art with an emphasis on oil painting and drawing.
